After first 'discovering' the gym and running age 21 my passion for exercise and movement soared, realising the benefits for mind and body took me into marathon running and endurance sport. In 2006 I quit my office job and retrained as a personal trainer...over the years I've trained a variety of people from all walks of life, younger, older, people with injuries, disabled adults (stroke patients, Parkinson's, MS, Cerebral Palsy, Dystonia, Partial and blind adults). Over the years I've loved learning about different conditions, and whilst I cannot (unfortunately) cure these conditions, being able to help people build strength, balance and maintain fitness as much as possible has been so rewarding.
I've been lucky to train people for events, such as marathon running or people who just want to be a little bit fitter, stronger, more agile. whatever the goal, we can work towards it at your pace.
As I'm now a little older, my goals have changed, interests moved on. Pilates and the reformer have massively shifted how I train and feel I need to move. I can feel the benefits of Pilates after struggling with back pain (believed to be attributed to grumbling disc's and one VERY straight spine!) Change is good and sometimes we all need to make that leap!
I also love trekking, reading thrillers and true crime, watching a great film when I'm not training. Travelling and seeing new places is so important for me and if I've learnt one thing in all these years as a fitness professional, it's to get out there and live life and be the best that you can be!
